Start Your Adventure
Hello and welcome to Forked Paths & Alternate Endings where we will dive into interactive fiction and find our path. My name is Ian Lemmon and I am here to discover new adventures and stories through interactive fiction (IF).
The experience I have with IF mostly comes from my time playing D&D which I play on a weekly basis. If you have not ever played D&D I would recommend it as it has so far been a very enjoyable experience and something I look forward to every week. If your interested you can learn a lot more at the official D&D website. Now to explore a few works of IF including Adventure and Zork.
Adventure is an interesting adventure that involves you as the player character (PC) and haves you try to figure out puzzles and combinations of items. I made it to the bird but do not know how to capture the bird.

Zork is the other text adventure game I have played around with. I prefer Zork to other works of IF because it what most people think of when they hear text adventure and also I have had some experience with it before.

Some other works of IF that come to mind are Anchorhead and Coloratura. The main reason that I like these stories in particular are because they are both relate to Lovecraft and the Mythos involved in some of stories he wrote. I especially like Coloratura and definitely recommend it as it is unique in how you play the role of an elder god/unknown entity which is a new take on these types of stories as in this one you play the monster.
