Journey Into Space
Greetings adventurers! Last time I talked about Info com and played a game Leather Goddesses of Phobos which was science fiction. In this post I am going to continue with these space adventures by playing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The story was written by Douglas Adams. In the story you play as Arthur Dent and you travel and explore with your friend Ford and eventually make it into space. Ford for me is a curious character as I do not know much about him. I looked into the character Ford and found that the Hitchhikers Fandom gave some info without spoiling anything which was nice. The story can prove to be quite difficult as there are many opportunities where you can miss important items and sometimes even die.
Episode 1
In this 1st episode it was not too hard to progress although I did have to restart 1 time as I died once in the beginning. I was surprised that I died to the bulldozer when I tried to follow Ford and realized I had wait for Ford to interfere. By the end of the episode I was able to get off of earth.
Episode 2
After getting of earth using the device I was put into a darkness and it took me a bit to understand what I had to do and after waiting a multitude of times I saw that one of senses were missing and tried to smell which led me out of the dark. The majority of this episode was me trying to retrieve the babel fish which fooled me multiple times and made me think I had it and soon become a frustrating process but also a laughable one.
This work of IF proved to be far more difficult than the works I have played around with. As a result I had to use walk through for some of it. The walk through however, was not straightforward and did not give the answers away but offered multiple hints first which helped me get unstuck. The walk through I used was Game Hints found on BBC.
