The Future of IF

Hello and welcome back. In this post, I wanted to discuss my thoughts on IF as a whole and where I think it might go. I believe that IF is only going to grow in size and gain popularity. I can see where it can be a confusing idea at first but after that it opens up a new world of entertainment to be enjoyed. I always liked being able to make choices in games a lot and I think that is part of the reason I love the Witcher 3 so much is that my decisions create different outcomes, therefore, I become more immersed in the story because I feel like I am now part of that story. I believe IF has a strong place in videogames, especially story-driven games.

As you all probably know by now I am a pretty avid gamer and connect IF to games often. I would say Telltale Games do a good job at representing interactive fiction. I believe the two best are The Walking Dead series and The Wolf Among Us.

While books are still enjoyable I think in time IF will become even more popular than those as they just create very unique experiences that regular books are not capable of.

I have to say I have enjoyed the various adventures that I experienced in Interactive Fiction. I have learned that Interactive Fiction spreads across all kinds of mediums such as physical books, IF games on the computer, films, and some video games.

Through my time exploring interactive fiction, I have even written a couple of my own and I am still developing them in various ways. If you want ever to check them out I have included links below.

Forbidden Hunger

Hunter of Legends

Thanks for reading and continue exploring interactive fiction.
